Beyond Asanas

Moxshlife Yoga was founded by the Master following His spiritual experience, which took place after His encounter with His Gurudev's energy. The Master realized that most people no longer know that yoga is vast science designed for spiritual seekers. Instead, most practitioners and teachers of Yoga focus on fitness and health, recuperating from/or preventing illnesses, or just as fashion. Although it is one of the most popular exercise regimes around the world, it has been reduced to just that: an ancient Indian exercise regime.

Therefore, the Master founded Moxshlife Yoga. It is Traditional Yoga but with a focus on spiritual development, which is the actual purpose of Yogic Science. It is a way of life to be followed for attaining yoga and after attaining Yoga. It is a divine spiritual yogic path for all yoga practitioners guided by Acharya Dr. M. J. Pillai (The Master). It focuses on giving a complete yogic experience, including fitness, health, peace of mind, contentment, and YOGA.

Regular Course in Moxshlife Yoga

Moxshlife Commune offers regular sessions in Moxshlife Yoga. These 90-minute sessions are conducted thrice a week. The sessions address the health and wellness requirements of people today.

Cultural Retreat at MoxshVihar

A fun way to learn and connect with our beautiful and rich culture

Most people caught up in the bustle of everyday life yearn for an opportunity to unwind and connect with themselves. Holidays and picnics, although enjoyable for their duration, do not create a lasting impact on the body and mind.

The cultural retreat has been designed by the Master to create a fun, yet highly uplifting holiday experience for children and adults. While revelling in the nature and beauty of MoxshVihar and enjoying healthy, wholesome meals, participants will get absorbed into the intricacies of our ancient culture and traditions and understand its applications and relevance in today's life.

Most importantly, it is a chance to spend time in a Gurukulam under the direct guidance of a spiritual Master.

The cultural retreat has been designed as a complete experience that combines training, relaxation, spiritual guidance, work (karma yoga) and much, much more!

Seven-Day Moxshlife Yoga Retreat

Holiday at a Gurukulam; Rejuvenate with Yoga; Connect to yourself with Meditation; Encounter a spiritual Master

Moxshlife Commune offers one-week (7 days) Moxshlife Yoga Retreats throughout the year.

The objective of the retreat is complete physical and emotional rejuvenation. It is a one-of-its-kind retreat that will be conducted in highly invigorating environments under the direct presence and guidance of the Master.

The program includes:
1. A well-balanced training regimen comprising Asanas, Pranayama, Mantra Chanting, Relaxation Techniques, and Meditation
2. Self Defence sessions for empowerment and self confidence*
3. Nourishing and balanced meals for a healthy Yogic diet

*Keimoudo Self-Defence Training for empowerment
The Master experienced the essence of Yoga through Martial Arts and understood the divine nature of Martial Arts through Yoga. Satsang
This will include silent meditation, mantra chanting and a talk or reading on the philosophy of yoga and Vedanta.

Karma yoga
Karma yoga means selfless service. This makes the participant feel one with MoxshVihar. Every participant is expected to do up to one hour of Karma Yoga every day within MoxshVihar.

Talk
Talk by the Master on various topics, including asana practice, yogic lifestyle, stress management, etc.

Brunch/Dinner
Simple, Indian style vegetarian meals will be provided.

Accommodation
At MoxshVihar we offer simple dormitory style accommodation with bathrooms. There are separate dormitories for men and ladies.

What to bring?
Comfortable clothes, sandals, toiletries, personal items, meditation shawl for cool evenings, yoga asana mat or pad, meditation cushion, notebooks, pens, towels, and a torch.

Documentation
Participants are required to bring the following for documentation and registration:
I. Indian citizens residing in India:
1. Original Photo Identity (Adhaar Card) with a copy for submission.
2. Proof of citizenship: Passport or Voter ID card issued by the Indian Government with copies for submission.
3. Current residential proof: Electricity bill (in your/your parents/relatives name, rent agreement, or quarters allotment letter). If you do not have any of the above, please contact us on the number below for clarification.
4. (Optional) Submit photocopy(ies) of any Yoga course attended
5. Three latest I-Card sized colour photo (1 inch x 1.25 inches)

II. Non-Resident Indian citizens:
1. Original Photo Identity (Adhaar Card) with a copy for submission.
2. Proof of citizenship: Passport or Voter ID card issued by the Indian Government with copies for submission.
3. Current valid Visa issued by the country in which the participant is currently residing.

Advanced Booking
The Moxshlife Yoga Retreat is a premium course that does not take more than 8 participants per batch. And therefore, advanced booking for the course is recommended.

Life at MoxshVihar
To maintain the spiritual atmosphere of MoxshVihar, all participants are requested to understand aspects of the Way of Life at MoxshVihar and be familiar with the Cultural Information. For details, read about MoxshVihar.

Moxshlife Commune reserves the right of admission, and students may be asked to leave if their behaviour is not at par with life at MoxshVihar, and their course fee will not be refunded or transferred.

Moxshlife Yoga Teachers Training Course

A 26-day Residential Teachers Training Course at MoxshVihar

Moxshlife Commune gives people the opportunity to learn and teach Moxshlife Yoga. As India takes the centre-stage in the promotion of Yoga worldwide, now is the time for you to become part of this noble service.

Moxshlife Commune's international standard Teachers' Training Course (TTC) in Moxshlife Yoga have been designed to give aspirant teachers all the required technical knowledge and support to take the timeless tradition forward.

Certificate: Moxshlife Commune will award the participant an internationally recognized Teachers Level certificate on successful completion of the TTC.
Important Note: The Founder of Moxshlife Commune, Acharya Dr. M. J. Pillai (The Master), is from one of India's most ancient and respected Yoga and spiritual lineages. The Teachers Training Course has been designed by the Master and is conducted under His technical guidance and follows the age-old traditional system of Yoga. The Institute's mission is to give the world quality teachers to teach the science of yoga and Vedanta. Therefore, Moxshlife Commune does not believe in getting itself recognized by any third-party organization. And so, its certificates do not have any third-party credentials or seals. Yoga Teachers certified by Moxshlife Commune are qualified to take the age-old tradition of Yoga and Vedanta across the world with the blessings of our Gurudev.

Attendance of all sessions in TTC and following the daily schedule is mandatory.

Generally Wednesdays are the Day Off for the students. However, this is subject to change according to the schedule and program.

Asana Sessions
Every day there will be session in Asanas. The first session is aimed at developing personal practice. This session will cover Suryanamaskar (Sun Salutation), 12 essential asanas, and their variations. The second session will teach you how to teach. This will include the following:
1. How to teach the Suryanamaskar and the essential 12 asanas to beginners
2. How to teach a general class
3. How to teach specific groups such as children, the elderly and pregnant women, etc.
4. Shat Kriyas (6 cleansing techniques): theory and practice.

Pranayama
Students will be taught the practice of Kapalabhati and AnulomaViloma (alternate nostril breathing).

Satsang
This will include silent meditation, mantra chanting and a talk or reading on the philosophy of yoga and Vedanta.

Karma yoga
Karma yoga means selfless service. This makes the participant feel one with MoxshVihar. Every participant is expected to do up to 30 minutes of Karma Yoga every day within MoxshVihar.

Main Talk
These are lectures by the Master explaining various subjects, including:
1. The essence of the Bhagwad Gita, which is considered to be one of the greatest spiritual texts of the world.
2. Asana practice, yogic lifestyle, and stress management
3. Vedanta Philosophy
4. The four paths of Yoga: Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga (the path of devotion), Raja Yoga (mind control), and Jnana Yoga (the path of wisdom and realization).
5. Psychology of the spiritual aspirant
6. Karma and reincarnation
7. Kundalini yoga
8. The three bodies and their functions
9. Anatomy Physiology: The effects of asana on the major body systems
10. Yogic diet and fasting
11. Meditation: Guideline to meditation; benefits of meditation
12. The use of mantras and mantra initiation

The main lecture requires a daily homework summary.

Recommended Texts

TTC Manual is provided with the course fee. Additional useful texts include:
1. Sivananda Training Manual - by Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre.
2. The Complete Illustrated Book of Yoga - by Swami Vishnudevananda
3. Bhagavad Gita (with commentary by Swami Sivananda)
4. Sivananda Companion to Yoga - by Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre
5. Meditation and Mantras - by Swami Vishnudevananda

These texts are not included in the course fee. The texts are usually available online and can be purchased by the participants directly.
